North American
Mountain Goats Square Cross-Section Reassembled Ring Teapot
17" tall x 10" wide x 6" deep
During my creative transition from making upright hollow ring teapots
with hand-sculpted animal figures attached, to concentrating on
abstract reassembled ring teapots, I experimented with using the
teapot form to suggest the environment of the animal I had chosen
to model. In this composition, I made the teapot composition suggest
the craggy rocks that North American Mountain Goats prefer, and
chose glaze colors in muted rocky shades of gray, green, brown,
and black. I consider this piece one of my most successful efforts
in my animal figure teapot series.
This teapot is held in a private collection in South Londonderry,
Vermont.
