Gray-Green Six-Pointed Star Cross-Section
Reassembled Ring Teapot
12" tall x 11" wide x 8" deep
This is the first reassembled ring teapot I have tried with two
rings: the arc that forms the base is not a part of the original
ring, which I cut into four sections for the teapot assembly. I
didn't seal the cross-section of the four-pointed star base ring,
so you can see the hollow construction. The finial on the lid is
cut from the same end of the base ring. With these reassembled compositions,
I often don't know while I am working on the teapot where the lid,
handle, and spout will go. I reassemble the ring, and then stand
it in different positions before choosing the final orientation.
This teapot is held in a private collection in Aspen, Colorado.
In addition to my unique reassembled ring teapots, my partner Susan Nykiel and I also make a wide range of functional and elegant pottery pieces.
